Your Landscape Design Should Be Perfect
You need time to finalize your plan.
What if we come up with a great design and schedule an installation date in 8 weeks. But in 6 weeks you decide on making a change… it can be done but will naturally cause delays and in some cases, the stone delivery may have already been received.
Now imagine choosing a design in December with an installation date in the spring. There is plenty of time to finalize your choices and take time to carefully consider all the options available. Being able to think over ideas and design choices is important when making such a big investment.
City of Ottawa Landscaping Permits & Delays
Retaining walls and raised patios require permits to make sure public safety is maintained. The earlier we apply for a permit the earlier we can get approved, and the earlier we can start. Sometimes permits are not approved at which time we have to adjust the design or modify the structure.
With the volume of permit applications, the City of Ottawa receives it is understandable that in the summer the waiting period can be 4-6 weeks. By applying for a permit in the late winter we can get a jump on the busy season.
Getting your permit in hand is a relief on the client and the contractor. It’s just one less obstacle in the way to beginning the project.

As the season passes, we get booked up fast! By planning ahead you can be one of the very first jobs we work on when the snow melts. With Ottawa’s seasonal weather we can experience delays despite working 10+ hour days. Each delay pushes everything further back in the queue.
